CAMHS - LD Workshops

A programme of workshops has been developed for CAMHS partnerships and stakeholders across London to support the development of care pathways for children and young people who have a learning disability and a mental health problem. The programme has been commissioned by the National CAMHS Support Service (NCSS) and Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP) and is facilitated jointly by them, with the Health and Social Care Advisory Service (HASCAS).

The care pathway development process follows the national model that was created as a Do Once And Share (DOAS) programme. For more information about DOAS go to http://www.annafreudcentre.org/ebpu/

Each workshop lasts a day and aims to:

set the scene for pathway development, within a national policy and guidance framework
identify, discuss and record local issues and considerations around children and young people with a learning disability and mental health problem
create a fully documented care pathway within existing resources
produce an action plan to implement the pathway.

The care pathway and action plan reproduced here have been anonymised, but were the real outcome of a care pathway workshop.
