Recent Project - CAMHS Partnership Tools

HASCAS has worked for and with the National CAMHS Support Service (NCSS) since its inception in 2003, producing a range of tools designed to assist local partnerships, commissioners and providers, in achieving a comprehensive CAMHS.

1. Self assessment matrix

The self assessment matrix was introduced in 2004 and underwent substantial revisions and improvements for 2005-6. The major changes is that the content of the tool is now based upon the two key policy drivers for CAMHS, the National Services Framework for Children, Young People and Maternity Services (Department of Health, 2004) and Every Child Matters: Outcomes (DfES, 2004)

The 2005-6 matrix is available as a pdf document, printed versions and as a web-based tool. Partnerships can select their preferred format.

The PDF version is provided below:

2. CAMHS Needs Assessment

All CAMHS strategies should be underpinned by a population needs assessment. The demographic analysis that forms a large element of the needs assessment can be done using the web based tool at http://www.childhealthmapping.org.uk/needs.assessment/

3. Partnership Facilitation Programme

This programme was developed in 2004 and was reviewed and updated in 2006. It comprises a series of half day facilitated workshops that promote consensual decision making and conclude with an action plan.

Partnerships are invited to contact their NCSS Regional Development Worker (RDW) to access any of the following half day modules:
