CAMHS to Adult Transition
HASCAS was funded by the Department of Health to conduct a two year study into the transition from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult Services. The project is nearing completion and preliminary findings were presented at the joint HASCAS and Young Minds conference on 15th May:
The Wonder Years, Listening to 16 to 25 year olds: New Ways to Meet Their Mental Health Needs.
The project aims to achieve:
Improved access for young people to age appropriate mental health services,
including transition to adult provision, and a reduction in the inequalities
created by age limits.
Support for the development and implementation of integrated working and
the NSF for Children, Young People and Maternity Services.
Outcomes
Improvements to local transition arrangements, supporting services in
making those improvements through a good practice service model.
Involvement of practitioners and young people and their carers in the
development of the model.
