CAMHS Workforce Planning
HASCAS has been working with Barry Nixon, National CAMHS Workforce Lead, to promote workforce planning for specialist CAMHS, set within the wider context of children’s services. We have piloted the use of the workforce planning tool across the regions.
The CAMHS workforce planning template is available here for you to download as six documents.
- For an overview first read the Guidance booklet
- Open up the workforce plan template , where you will see that help and suggestions are provided in blue text.
- On page 5 you are asked to produce a bar chart using local data. The formula for this is contained in Appendix A
- On page 7 you need to use Appendix B to help you produce charts showing your current staffing
- Page 8 asks you to use Appendix C to help you produce pie charts of your service’s case mix.
- Appendix D is referred to on page 9. It shows how a proportionate approach to skill mix has been calculated by mapping evidence of effective interventions on to case mix.
If it all looks daunting, please contact y.anderson@hascas.org but also take some time to look at the first workforce plan we completed with Pennine Care .
